Abstract:
In the countylevel network topology of the Shaanxi meteorological communication system,a single router connects two ISPlinks simultaneously. This architecture may lead to high risk of singlepoint failure and competition for bandwidth among different services as well. To tackle these two problems,this article proposes a dualrouter architecture,each connecting an ISP line respectively. Configuring Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP),with load balance mode enabled,the data flow sharing between two ISP lines can be realized. Both router hot standby and link redundancy are achieved under this schema. Furthermore, the Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) is employed to improve the switch speed between Master and Backup router of VRRP. After the application of about one year, the result indicates that the design target is achieved. The system offers a reference for other municipal or county level meteorological network system designing and implementation.
