Abstract:Using the C# program language and WebService interface, a realtime contour technology solution is developed for smart mobile devices. This solution changes meteorological grid data into contour data by the contour algorithm. Contour data are converted into binary data which is encoded and compressed through coding and compression techniques. The binary contour data is downloaded into the mobile devices by the WebService interface, and by using of WebGIS API functions and mobile terminals, the contours and choroplethic map are drawn in real time and displayed on screen as the vector layer. The application results show that the solution can avoid image fuzzy and image distortion and display more detailed and accurate and clear meteorological information, comparing to displaying a picture on screen.
