Abstract:The coverage and quality of AMVWV (Atmospheric Motion VectorsWater Vapor) are discussed. To verify the AMVWV impaction, the quasioperational edition GRAPES_GFS_1423 is used to carry out a onemonth test. The AMVWV observations come from the database of the National Meteorological Information Center (NMIC). The results indicate that AMVWV data distribute above 700 hPa, and the observation errors of the AMVWV with QI above 80% can compare with that of AMVIR. The assimilation of AMVWV can improve the analysis of the wind from 500 hPa to 100 hPa. The RMS of the wind analysis is reduced slightly. The anomaly correlation coefficient of the 500 hPa height for 144hour forecast is enhanced by 0.02. The data quality of AMVWV in the clear sky above 700 hPa is relatively poor. The third experiment does not have much improvement in analysis and forecast.
