Abstract:The Beidou satellite is the first generation satellite navigation system with independent intellectual property right in China, having the functions of timing, positioning, and short message transmission. The needs analysis, system functions, and structure of the Beidou Satellite Early Warning Release System are described. The system is an effective solution to the bottleneck problem of early warning release in remote rural and mountainous areas, and it expands the coverage of warning service; in the densely populated urban area, the problems of delay and information blocking of releasing warning information are solved, which greatly improves the timeliness of warning release. The system achieves the real time uploading of disaster release information, and becomes a warning dissemination system that combines information releasing, receiving, and feedback together. Some suggestions are given for the application of the Beidou satellite in the emergency response system of China.
