Abstract:Based on the existing weather forecasting platform (WOSIS, MICAPS) of the Xiangxi Meteorological Service, a prefectural level public meteorological service platform is designed, which solved the “last mile” problem in meteorological service transmission. The platform uses the C/S mode, developed in the Microsoft Windows environment with VB60 SP6, and the backend database uses SQL Server 2000 The clients can be used without installing plug in. By using a variety of meteorological warning and management approaches, the platform effectively solved the problems encountered in meteorological disaster warning dissemination, improved the efficiency and quality of public weather services, and enhanced the management level of meteorological services.
